TouchNetix Supports Yamaha in New DM5 Digital Mixing Consoles

Transforming Digital Mixer Interfaces with World-First Glass Keys

Trondheim, Norway – 4th November 2026:
TouchNetix, a leading provider of human-machine interface (HMI) touch and force solutions, today announced that its aXiom technology is integrated in the Yamaha DM5 digital mixing consoles, bringing advanced capacitive touch features to professional audio applications.

The Yamaha DM5 Series integrates four aXiom touch controllers to create a highly responsive and intuitive user interface:

  • AX112A supporting the 13.3-inch displays
  • AX54A supporting the 4.3-inch displays

This multi-chip solution delivers seamless, high-performance multi-touch sensing, ensuring reliable operation in demanding live and studio environments. The DM5 Series is also available in a compact model, offering the same powerful functionality in a unit half the size.

A standout innovation in the DM5 Series is the world-first implementation of touch-sensitive glass keys in music mixers. Integrated directly on top of the display surfaces, these tactile keys offer three adjustable sensitivity levels, enabling users to tailor interaction to their preference. Both light touch and press inputs can activate the controls, providing a tactile experience while preserving the durability and clean aesthetics of a fully glass interface. Unlike conventional buttons, these glass keys operate dynamically and can change their labelling to match the functionality chosen by the user.

By leveraging aXiom technology, the Yamaha DM5 Series delivers:

  • Adjustable touch and press features for personalised user interaction
  • Reliable performance in electrically noisy environments typical of professional audio environments

“Collaborating with Yamaha on the DM5 Series demonstrates the flexibility and performance of our aXiom technology in professional audio applications,” said Gaute Myklebust, CEO of TouchNetix. “Enabling precise touch sensing combined with the innovative glass keys introduces a new level of control and user experience for live sound and professional audio applications.”
