Dial on Display

Touchscreens and surfaces are sleek and intuitive, but some functions still call for the precision and tactile feedback of mechanical controls, like adjusting audio volume or climate settings in a car. That’s where aXiom’s Dial on Display comes in, combining the elegance of a touchscreen with the familiarity of a rotary dial.

Why Dial on Display?

  • Integration: Mechanical integration isn't required, and dials can simply be affixed to the display or surface.

  • Reliable: Dials ensure a predictable and reliable performance.

  • Flexible Functionality: Supports multiple modes, from basic rotational features, to integration with force sensing, multi-touch, and Pilot ID.

aXiom also supports Press-on-Dial functionality. This allows each dial to detect three distinct user interactions:

  • Hover detection as the user approaches

  • Touch-on-dial when contact is made

  • Press-on-dial when pressure is applied

All these features apply when the dial is rotated in any position.

Up to 5 dials can be independently supported per aXiom device.

This capability is compatible with standard trans cap sensors, including the TouchNetix Chrominance range, and does not require force sensing.
