FORCE SENSING TOUCHSCREENS
Our pressScreen products are designed to allow easy integration into your system. The capacitive touchscreen is supplied ready-mounted onto a low profile stainless steel frame which contains the press sensor.
- 15″ diagonal available immediately – 7” to 24” diagonal will become available according to demand
- No impact on the properties of the touchscreen except for a small increase in overall thickness when mounted
TouchNetix pressScreen technology has been developed from the ground up to ensure they are suitable for the most demanding applications and even where a 100% liquid seal is required on the system. The units consist of a sensor which is positioned at the periphery of the front lens between a low profile stainless steel mounting frame and the rear surface of the front lens. A proprietary capacitance based measurement continually interrogates the sensor to determine and report if the front lens has been pressed.
To meet the most demanding industrial requirements, a TouchNetix pressScreen, when coupled with our high performance capacitive touchscreen technology complies with the rigorous requirements of the EN61000 4-6 EMC specifications. The device auto-calibrates at power up and stays calibrated as long as the power stays on.
The first products in our pressScreen range are built around our standard high performance Luminance touchscreens in a modular form to provide engineers an easy, fast and straightforward way to incorporate press-enabled state of the art multi-touch touchscreen capability into their end product, speeding time to market.
The sensor electronics are fully configurable by the user for a wide range of parameters to provide flexibility for a range of environmental and operational conditions. The device reports when press thresholds are exceeded or can provide raw analog data for the downstream system to post-process. There is also an option for a USB based interface where the touch and press data are correlated and can be presented to the operating system as an absolute or virtual mouse as a native HID device.
